01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
At 「オアシス」, Korean home cooking has a hearty, unpretentious character: bulgogi with crisp vegetables and a sweet-and-savory sauce, and seolleongtang, a beef-bone soup simmered until rich. In a residential area of Todai-shima, Urayasu, it is a relaxed neighborhood spot for Korean food.
A generous lunch set, with side dishes and dessert
At lunchtime, diners come for a wide range of set meals. There is plenty to choose from: pork or beef bulgogi sets for a substantial meal, yangnyeom chicken with a slightly sweet sauce that pairs well with rice, and gukbap sets, where rice is enjoyed in the soup. Set meals may also come with small plates such as kimchi and namul (banchan), miso soup, and a dessert topped with kuromitsu syrup, making for a satisfying meal from start to finish.
Evenings bring samgyeopsal, shared plates and Korean drinks
In the evening, the table fills with dishes such as samgyeopsal—pork grilled slowly and wrapped in lettuce with miso—as well as hot pots and other à la carte plates. For sharing, there are cheese jeon with a golden, crisp surface, seafood jeon generously filled with seafood, and nakgopsae, a hot pot simmered with octopus, offal and shrimp. Korean drinks include fresh makgeolli, bottled makgeolli made with rice or black beans, baekseju and Chamisul—choices suited to an after-work drink or a relaxed get-together.
The dining room also has sunken kotatsu-style seating, making it comfortable for a casual solo meal, a family outing or conversation around the table with a group. It suits both an everyday meal and an unhurried evening over Korean food and drinks.
